NOTE: Dogs on the Breed Exemption list (see exhibitors handbook) may jump
4 inches (one jump height) lower than their measured Standard jump height.
Example 1: A Cairn Terrier who measures
12 inches at the withers may jump 8 inches as their breed exempt standard
height.
Example 2: If a 17” dog was Skilled and chose 16 as her Standard height, then
the Vet height would be 12 in Regular and Jumpers and she would be 16 Std in
Tunnelers. But if she chose to have the
height break - she chose to have a Std
height of 12 inches...which means she then has a Vet height of 8 inches in
Regular and Jumpers then she would be a
Std height of 12 inches in Tunnelers.
In Skilled Category you have an option as to whether or not you take the 4 inch
height reduction. If you take the jump height reduction and it moves your
dog into a different SCT bracket then the SCT for the new bracket apply.
Example: If you have a dog whose height at withers is 15 inches and you have
entered skilled category for the trial you have a standard jump height choice
to make. If you choose to jump 16 inches then the SCT for medium dogs
will be applied. If you choose to jump 12 inches then the SCT for small
dogs will be applied.
